Diane Segard

Originally from the north of France, Diane Segard began playing the harp at age 7 at the Amiens conservatory. After studying in Paris in Ghislaine Petit-Volta's harp class at the Conservatoire and then at the Pôle supérieur, she joined the Haute école de musique de Lausanne in 2016, where she completed two Master's degrees under Letizia Belmondo: a performance Master's and a music pedagogy Master's.
Strongly drawn to symphonic music, she regularly plays with a range of orchestras such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Berner Symphonieorchester, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse. She was selected in 2019 to play with the prestigious Verbier Festival Orchestra.
Wishing to support musical creation and bring contemporary music to the fore, she joined the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra (formerly the Lucerne Festival Academy) in 2018 and 2021.
She founded the duo Oréade (duooreade.com) with flautist Océane Knop, and both musicians are members of the association "Les Concerts du Cœur" (lesconcertsducoeur.ch), which brings musical moments to people who otherwise have limited access to culture.
Her various artistic projects regularly lead her to perform in chamber music and ensemble settings, notably with the Abraxas Ensemble and the Diaphane ensemble, and as a soloist.
Outside the stage, she shares her passion for music by teaching harp at several music institutions in the canton of Vaud.
