Emile Abeille

Emile Abeille was born into a family of musicians, painters and sculptors. He began studying violin at age 7 at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève in the class of Ömer Sipahi, continuing his studies with Saskia Filippini and François James.
At age 14, he entered the pre-professional track and, in 2013, earned his musical studies certificate with top distinctions (including the Prize of the State of Geneva). That same year, he was admitted to the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in the class of Gyula Stuller, concertmaster of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, with whom he studied until 2020, when he earned a second Master's in performance.
A six-time laureate of the Swiss Youth Music Competition, both solo and in chamber music, Emile Abeille was invited to perform as a soloist with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève at the Victoria Hall in 2012. Regularly sought after as a soloist and chamber musician in Switzerland, he performs, among other venues, at the Lavaux Classic festival.
Emile Abeille is also a laureate of the Swiss International Music Competition and won, in 2020, 1st Prize at the International Competition of Barletta (Italy), before being awarded, the following year, 1st Prize at the Danubia Talents Liszt International Music Competition (Budapest, Hungary).
He has taken masterclasses with Pavel Vernikov, Svetlana Makarova, Igor Volochine, François Payet Labonne, Gyula Stuller, Katalin Sebestyén, Sergiu Schwartz and Christoph Schikedanz.
In 2017, he was selected to take part in the Ravel Academy in Saint-Jean-De-Luz, where he had the opportunity to study with Svetlin Roussev and Stéphanie-Marie Degand, professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.
For 5 years, Emile Abeille was part of the chamber music class of Vincent Coq, pianist of the Trio Wanderer, and, since 2017, that of Patrick Genet, first violin of the Sine Nomine quartet. As a chamber musician, he has also refined his craft with Laszlo Baranyai, piano professor at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest.
With clarinettist Adeline Mélo and pianist Alexandra Vizman, he founded the Trio Miró in 2017, with which he performs notably in Switzerland and Romania.
He has had the opportunity to play with numerous orchestras, including the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre du Collège de Genève, the Orchestre Buissonier, the Nouvel Orchestre de Genève, the Orchestre Nexus Symphonique, and the Ensemble Baroque instrumental de Genève, among others.
Emile Abeille has served as a substitute teacher at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève and currently teaches at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Intercommunal d'Annemasse.
