Mélissa Krummenacher

Mélissa Krummenacher

Passionate about brass music from a young age, Mélissa Krummenacher spent more than ten years in the world of Swiss wind bands and brass bands, winning various competitions in ensemble and as a soloist, before turning her career toward classical music, taking lessons with Gérard Métrailler, principal trumpet of the OSR.

In 2013 she earned a Master's in Performance with the Chamber Music Prize, and in 2015 a Master's in pedagogy in the class of Jean-François Michel, former principal trumpet of the Munich Philharmonic.

Today, she plays with various ensembles such as the Orchestre de Chambre Fribourgeois, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Sinfonietta, the Boswill contemporary ensemble, the Zermatt Festival Orchestra, and the orchestra of the association Cantate et Paroles.

She is also active in chamber music with the brass and percussion ensemble "Dixtuor" and the quartet "Nov'ars". She is a founding member of the association "Promenade des Arts", which seeks to promote the original wind-band repertoire by organising concerts in unusual venues.

Driven by a desire for discovery and versatility, she teaches trumpet and music theory at various music schools in the canton of Vaud and at the Fribourg Conservatory. Alongside her musical career, and to broaden her horizons, she completed a degree in Arts at the University of Geneva, specialising in History and French Literature, and a Master's in Pedagogy at the HEP Vaud. She is currently pursuing a CAS in cultural project management.
